About Us

WHO WE ARE

Our group of companies was founded in 1968 in Saskatoon by Arnold Wig with the incorporation of Wig’s Sandpoint Services Ltd. As the demand for rural water and septic systems grew so did Arnold’s company. Through the years the company grew it’s services and changed it’s name to Wig’s Pumps and Waterworks.

Today we are proud to have a knowledgeable group of staff able to provide solutions in the areas of water treatment, pumps, water system and pump repair and so much more. We are proud to be a local, family run, Saskatchewan owned and operated business and as a member of the Aquifer Group of Companies, Wig’s Pumps & Waterworks continues to serve Saskatchewan along Aquifer Distribution Ltd. and Flo-Essence Plumbing, Hearth & Decor, supplying solutions today for a better life tomorrow.

Our History

1968

Wig’s Sandpoint Services was started by Arnold Wig. The company first focused on the installation of water and spetic systems for the acreage community around Saskatoon.

1972

Arnold Wig purchased his first Gus Pech water well boring rig along with two rotary test rigs to enter the well drilling business.

1977

Arnold sold the drilling rigs to the crew members who were working for him and started subcontracting that work. As the demand for rural water and septic systems grew so did the company. Arnold shifted the focus of Wig’s Sandpoint Services to pumps, water treatment, pipe sales, and installation.

1979

Glenn Wig joined the company and helped grow the municipal water treatment area of business across Saskatchewan.

1981

Glenn recognized the need for a strong wholesale distribution company to support the contractor network of pump dealers across Saskatchewan and started Aquifer Pump Distributing Ltd. and acquired the Goulds Pumps distributorship for Saskatchewan.

1984

As the company grew a new branch in Regina was opened to help the company better serve customers in southern Saskatchewan.

1986

Glenn purchased Wig’s Sandpoint Services Ltd from Arnold and Sophie Wig.

1995

Glenn purchased a new building in Saskatoon at 227 Venture Crescent to bring both Wig’s Sandpoint Services and Aquifer Pump Distributing into the same facility.

2006

The Regina branch got a new building at 915 McDonald Street to further grow its operations. Wig’s Sandpoint Services Ltd was changed to Wig’s Pumps and Waterworks to better represent the actual business activities.

2013

Glenn completed an amalgamation with Wig’s Pumps and Waterworks Ltd and brought it under the umbrella of Aquifer Distribution Ltd.

2019

The Saskatoon branch moved into a much larger facility to allow us to be in the same building as Aquifer Distribution and Flo-Essence Hearth and Decor.
